In 2007, I was a youth pastor in the small town of Perryton, Texas. Someone asked me where Perryton was. I said, “Straight North of (my hometown) Gruver, Texas.” A friend listening to this conversation laughed and said, “Jill, you don’t know where you live. You need to look at a map.” So, I did. When I looked at the map I found that Perryton is almost due East of Gruver, Texas, and a little North. When I was looking at this map I saw “Hwy 83” which runs through Perryton. I heard the Lord say “Look up ‘U.S. Hwy 83’ on Google.” So I did. I pulled up the Wikipedia page. I saw this picture:
Then the Lord said, “A division is coming in America that will be equivalent to the Civil War but this time it will not be North vs. South. It will be Left vs. Right.” Keep in mind that was 2007. I believe the next presidential election in 2008 began a surge of the most polarizing political behaviors that we’ve ever seen in this country.
Since then, I have prayed over this division in America. I have sought the Lord over what he might be calling me to do regarding this division. I have felt led over the years to write and release a story-album called Common Ground, produce a multimedia stage show called, Return To Love, write a book called Glory and Warfare, and create a YouTube podcast called, The Common Ground Sound Podcast.
U.S. Highway 83 Prayer Trip (2024)
Hey there! I might have just met you out there on the road earlier today, or in the last few days. If so, (and even if not) I'm glad you came to visit the website. Drop me a note so we can stay in touch and pray for each other through this next election cycle, and whatever might happen after that! It was so great to connect and talk to you out there. Like we probably discussed, we can't depend on politics or politicians to save us. It's up to us as the people - the great Commoners of America with the help of the Glory of God!!
